Now this is a bummer, i just bought my G5 2 months ago, and now they have come out with the new system. Thank goodness apple machines hold their value. I spoke with the company i purchased this machine from and as soon as they get the new machines, I will be able to upgrade for around $500 for the bigger machine
I am looking forward to getting the new workstation in a few months, once i get it and have time to run it I will post a review here.
The stats for my current workstation are as follows
- Quad 2.5 gHz PPC Processors
- 4 GB Crucial 533 mHz PC 4200 Ram
- NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT
- 250 GB Hard Drive
- Airport
- Bluetooth
- Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-110D
This system seems to perform pretty well, i have had it hang in some windows before, such as Zend Studio, when i format the code using the keyboard shortcut. Firefox sometimes get’s overloaded.
This is pretty much how it runs for me.
